    My New Uptiders ?

They're probably in better condition than me fella ☺️ I can't remember having a rod as light as the Conoflex, you could hold it all day! It's got a lovely action too. The Sealey is a bit more of beast!

    My New Uptiders ?

A mate dropped these beauties off last night. A Carroll McManus semi-carbon Conoflex with a Bass tip. And a North Western Sealey, 9'6", 6-8 ounce...Both in need of some TLC, and looking forward to bringing them back to life. Should pair well with a couple of 70's ABU reels.

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

Wow, the 63lb Yuki is the same diameter as the Linetech 30lb... Appreciated Mike ?

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

I noticed the thickness of the Linetech and thought it didn't fit with what I'd read. Hopefully the other advantages/differences are more accurate!

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

I've kept my planer/thicknesser just incase it comes in handy when we move, either house or boat! ?

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

That's the plan, if it works out. Something we should have done twenty years ago but moved to Spain instead, BIG BIG mistake! Three years ago we had hoped to have moved by 2021, but then COVID hit! Sadly house prices shot up a bit more than expected too, but we'll be looking more at a small holding.

We could be neighbours next year fella, so you could show me around ?

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

Hello John. I've got quite a few reels with braid, but I've got a few rods that don't have braid friendly guides.

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

Sadly there's not many tackle shops left near me fella, the nearest one is mainly Carp gear, another one about ten miles way does stock sea fishing tackle, but not a lot of line! After that, it's Angling Direct, and I wouldn't buy off them again if they were the only tackle company left on the...

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

Apparently some of their gear was designed by the South Bend Tackle Co, but most were copies of other manufacturers and were made in Japan. Sadly I don't know enough about Vintage tackle to spot the South Bend designs! Here's a little Intrepid I picked up a few weeks back.

    Linetech Copolymer Line From Blakdog?

Has anyone tried this as a mainline?

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

It was "Winfield" Shirleycodlin, middle name of Frank Winfield Woolworth who established the company.

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

I've seen a few old Shakespeare reels lately Pete, and I have been tempted to see how they fish, or at least strip one down to see what the insides are like! The Daiwa Moonraker was my first proper beach caster with a Mitchell reel. To this day I can't remember what happened to them...I used to...

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

I agree Warby, and it would probably make a better boat reel if the cast control was removed.

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

I was thinking the weight of it might suit reel down, but I don't have the grip in my left hand anymore. Like you say, will be interesting trying it out Wolf.

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

Definitely Pete. I can't wait to use this Penn 77, I reckon the plasters with come in handy! ?

    Ryobi Atlantic 3246

I appreciate this page is probably for more modern gear, but I thought you might like to see this reel I picked up in Cash Generator last week. I'm not great at casting any distance so it'll be fun when I get to try it out with this Ryobi. It weighs in at 1.5lb, that's heavier than anything I...
