    Penn reels

Just bought a pair of fathom 2 stardrag mags in the 12 size, feel very solid , not as refined as the 7ht's but feel a bit better in use than the casting specials which is odd as I thought they were just a smaller version.

    Social session.

Went again last night and blanked for the first time this year but not bothered as I only really wanted to try out a new pair of reels which I have seen highly recommended on here. They are a pair of fathom 2 stardrags in size 12. Must say they feel very nice with plenty of winding power but...

    Review Maged saltiest

They are in a different league to the fathom casting specials build quality wise.

    Prawns...

Freeline live ones in the river for bass or float fish them in the river, surprising how long you can keep them alive in a bucket of airated river water.

    New Beachcaster - Fixed Spool

Welcome Mike, rod choice is personal with so many out there in your price range. Depends on what action you like and how you tend to fish, in close, long range, lite as possible or big leads big baits ect. Chesil as you know can vary dramatically with weather , area and tide, I've fished it with...

    Bait ,...

Blow lug used to be plentiful on my local beaches but with all the sea defences being increased over the last three decades it can be impossible to find areas worth the effort now. A lot of the tackle shops sell rag worm but although they don't like to advertise it most are selling farmed stuff...

    Bait ,...

Just thinking about baits I've used over what is the best part of fifty years. All the obvious ones , rag, lug, Mac, squid, crab, muscle , sandeel. Muscle was good when I lived in Ireland but rarely use it here on the south coast. Here it's always lug and squid when the whiting are in. Rag and...

    Gomexus Power Handles

One simply must have a reel for each of ones rods , can't abide a partial tackle tart it has to be all or nothing. Will be some of these handles myself.

Any idea what this setup is?

Looks like a very old dated shark or conga wreck fishing setup. Rod would be very heavy by today's standards and reel again big and heavy by today's standards with most using much smaller powerfull reels loaded with braid.

    Lures.

Only shore for me but I do have shallow and mid water divers but I tend to use the gravity sticks far more .

    Lures.

Favourite for me, surface patchenko, below down to maybe six feet a toss up between the gravity stick and fiiish minow in olive, windy lumpy water or casting further it's the seaker . Any killers out there I need to try ?
