You should have use whiting as bait….. last year i was catching 100’s of the bloody things. I called Pete who said put a whole one back out and if you catch one go home…….. Well i did catch one so i went home……

There was good sizes coming in last year, seems patchy this year so far?

The species list grows.....
sea rats = whiting
Spikey sea rats = bass (but only at dungeness)
Flat dogfish = thornbacks
Dildo fish = congers
green dogs = smuts
anything under 4oz = bait

Lol! I don’t mind catching the bigger ones for a comp - a 1lb 8 is usually pretty achievable at chesil this time of year.

I went there for ease, lack of people and no feckin shingle lol, otherwise would have done Abbo
