Fathom mk2 sd mag

Just been sent an email offering me the Penn 515 Mag 4 at £113. Just wondered if anyone knew how the reel compares to the Penn Fathom II size 12, as reading the stuff on Veals they sound similar.

Mag4 has a plastic sleeve holding gears that fails @Chalton had one that died on him after a few weeks use

515 and fathom 12 have identical capacities. Same with the 525 and fathom 15.

I like the Fathom II's so much, i now have four of them. All fitted with the paddle handles from blakdog.

Purchased these penn fathom 2 15 sd mag two weeks ago but not had a chance to use them due being away from the sea. Loaded with 18lb F1 and tapered leader I’m
Looking forward to using them in a couple of weeks iv cleaned out the bearings and one drop of rocket oil in each bearing. Will report back once iv had a couple of sessions
