Weight for it weight away.

Very rarely cast more than 150gm weights , have used 6oz for some venues but not often, if there's a tidal run I just drop line diameter, keeping same breaking strain, and cast up tide, works for me, getting way to old to go lobbing cannon šŸš shells

move your hands apart 1 inch for every oz of lead from normal position , bigger leads over 5 oz slow cast down a bit

Do you have anything smaller to practice with?
A 10ft coarse rod and a 1oz bomb?
That might help you get into a rhythm to transfer to the bigger heavier stuff?

Overhead thump no problem there not tried anything else . Just a bit rusty .
and yes I need some practice
just not getting the distance. But beach fishing on Monday
taking a spare rod and reel and moving away up the beach for some practice.
Give OTG a go, loads the blank sooner and easier, worth a go.. ;)
Master the OTG, next step, Pendulum.. (y)
