Or browsing history caught up with you Tramps😂😂
Haha! Nah, my browsing history gets frequently cleansed! Klarna were very apologetic, and did admit there "had been a problem" but that doesn't help, as once your details have been leaked, the emails kept coming for a while.
I'm lucky in that I have my own Domain name with near endless email addresses, so can register a different address for each company. If I get trouble with spam and an address that has been leaked, I can just block that address..

Morning all.

We heard about this discussion and always appreciate feedback.

Customer satisfaction means a lot to us and we like to think that the vast majority of our customers are happy with the service we provide. We are always open to change and trying new things in order to move forward, so will always listen to our valued customers.

The Veals shop and Veals Mail Order had traded as separate companies since 1992.

The decision to close the Veals shop had nothing to do with us (Veals Mail Order) and it would appear that the closure was a sad casualty of the pandemic.

The new points system has been trialled and is under review. We are currently looking in to a multi-tier system that will potentially see established customers loyalty rewarded further.

We monitor our prices on a weekly basis, try to remain competitive and even this week offered some huge discounts on a selection of popular Penn reels.

(Example Penn Fathom Mag12SD reduced from £149.99 to £99.99)

We’re aware that it is a very competitive market and for this reason we offer a price match policy. 95% of the time we will match an advertised price, simply give us a call or send an email.

We pride ourselves on speed and efficiency and aim to dispatch your order within hours of receiving it. We are only human, and if something does go wrong, we bend over backwards to put it right. We are passionate about what we do and your satisfaction is incredibly important to us.

We have always sponsored individuals, events and various bodies, but we choose not to shout about it. We believe that it’s down to those who we sponsor to make mention if they so wish.

The Pendine open in September is just one of a number of events we have sponsored in one way or another this year.

Discussions like this are so important to us though, they offer a chance for us to hear how me might be doing, what we could change and what we could improve on, so thanks to all those involved, we do truly appreciate it.

This discussion is active and must be viewed by you as an opportunity to shout about the ways in which you put a % of your profits back into grass routes angling.
Sponsorship of an elite group of anglers is not putting money back into angling. Sponsorship is only done as a marketing excercise to increase brand awareness and the costs of Sponsorship are written off under marketing.

Above you say that the S Veals and Son Ltd business was a victim of the pandemic.
The first lockdown in the UK was midnight the 23rd of March 2020.
You put the company into administration on the 14th May 2020.
Are you really trying to say that you pre packed and appointed a administrator in five weeks during lockdown???
Being familiar with what that takes you know that that is completely impossible. The decision was made before pandemic.
But none of the above is as important as the fact that the directors were the same to some extent on both companies.
By closing the part of this business that provided a service to anglers face to face you did withdraw from being involved with the angling community.
Could you have kept it open, the answer is yes the VMO business was highly profitable and the directors were directors of both companies so yes you could but you made a conscious decision to terminate you face to face relationship with anglers in favour of a direct relationship with their debit cards.
Lastly given your status as No1 UK tackle supplier.
And the Pendine Comp being the one you support and sponsor.
Can you tell us what the prize money is..... or how you are supporting angling at grass roots generally.
Maybe free tackle for kids?.
Charitable donations to clubs?
Organisation of competitions?
Any other good works???

Lastly i just had a quick look at your beach reels and apart from odd individual promos your more expensive that a number of others.

Not had a problem with Veals, and often buy from their eBay store rather than the website, so the loyalty thing doesn't apply to me.

Recently had a bee in my bonnet about adding an extra cup & 'V' support to my Tripod.
Not to fish 3 rods, but I often take a lure rod when beach fishing and it will give me somewhere to put the lure rod up off the ground.
Veals were the only stockists who had tripod cups & 'V' rests that came with the nuts to fit them to the tripod.

I agree in principle to supporting local tackle shops, but most of them locally seem to be situated in places where parking is difficult, if not impossible. Plus, by the time you factor in fuel costs & parking costs to go get a few grip leads or packs of hooks etc, eBay is often cheaper and delivered (usually) to my door within 48hrs.
Actually tramps your about right..... you much better off using ebay in many cases than the veals website.
Much better to order from there because of postage charges etc even if veals is the seller.

I get put off sometimes buying stuff online. as with a lot of online sites (not Veals) they don't tell you what the P&P is going to be until you've entered all of your personal details and get to the checkout.
The reason I buy most of my stuff (all sorts, not just fishing gear) from eBay is that you can see at a glance what the item and the P&P is going to cost. Just had a count up and have bought 11 different items this month.

Cut to the chase pedro 😂😂

With Ebay most Sellers if buying Multiple items from same Seller also they only Charge for one Postage every Week I buy from same Sellers for Terminal Tackle Swivels Hooks etc

Sure they will be back to tell us how they put money back into angling........ they are number one you know!!!
They were for me at one time. But now I think a combination of better prices elsewhere as you said and just not needing much recently I have gone to pastures new

I flipping love veals and buy 90% of my sea bait tackle from them. The service has always been superb and prices very comparable to other shops. I know people say support your local but I feel very uncomfortable in my local shop for some reason ( maybe it’s the atmosphere or maybe it’s just my terrible mental health). Plus my locals prices are extortionate for a number of items, they also offer very little variety in brands etc.

I've just ordered 2 New Top eyes from Veals only 10mins ago over the Phone can't Fault them has there no local Tackle Shops near me all my stuff is Bought from Veals Shop or the eBay Shop they Got can't Fault them

Veals Mail Order (VMO) are sea fishing tackle specialists.
It was way back in 1846 when Veals was first established as a retail business in Bristol. Over the years ‘Veals’ became Bristol’s premier fishing tackle retailer. In the 1960’s a small mail order service was introduced and this subsequently developed to the extent that by the early 90’s it was proving very difficult to combine the needs of both a bustling retail shop and a rapidly growing mail order business within the same now cramped building. So in 1992, ‘Veals Mail Order’ was formed as a totally separate company and relocated to a specially designed warehouse on the southern outskirts of Bristol. From where they could provide a dedicated sea angling mail order service. This move has allowed Veals Mail Order to expand the range of sea fishing tackle we stock and also greatly improve the speed and efficiency of our service.

Ian
They need to be competitive and a decent after sales service imo. ( note: I didn't use a bold font)
Before I forget: Welcome Tom (y)

I will Say with Veals that you can Spread the Cost with Pay Pal or Klarna interest free payments over 3 months which Is Helpful to myself Especially if you can't Afford it in a one off Payment there's not many other many Dealers offer that

Every penny you spend with the greedy large tackle giants pushes the small shops closer to bankruptcy...... Veals is a death star to our past time.

Actually I’d say companies like angling direct are the Death Star. You obviously have an axe to grind when it comes to Veals. If you don’t like them, don’t use them - Simples.

The fact of the matter is bad local shops should close. Good local shops will survive.

Some of us haven't the Luxury to have A local Tackle Shop nearest is 40mins away on the Coast in Swansea and they Do Mail order I Do get my Baits from them can't afford just to go back and For in car just for Pkt hooks Links Etc cost more in Fuel

Lets just compare Veals with other local shops.
All that money! they boast about being the biggest and best......
Do you think they should contribute more than anyone else to grass roots angling?.
So yep I have an axe to grind and thats the Axe......
