I've just had a couple of hours, running ledger and two hook paternoster.prawn,macky, sandeel,squid and mussel=one nibble! Loads of garfish about topping!!! On a good note one of the smiths from near snaggs is coming down end of April for a fishing weekend.

Launched at 5.30am pulled the pots then got the rods out.caught a few keeper Pollack when after bass. Went off deep caught macky,pollack,poor cod,pout,whiting,dogs and then skip caught a 3ft plus smooth grey dogfish! Things are warming up!

Had a trip out carrick roads today.the conditions were beautiful first few hours though later on the wind got up. Fishing was slow but we ended up with a box of whiting and a couple of jumbo mackeral with a few small macky for bait.fish all on baited feathers nothing on big ledgered squid baits...

Yesterday I dug a few live sandeels, fishing two running ledgers with 2/0 hooks,one a four ounce gripper the other a plain six ounce bomb. Lost one bass in the surf and weed but landed one after. The bass were hooked on the plain lead after bumping it slowly for a few feet!

Had two joeys and a small garfish on this rig earlier,catches bass and seatrout too. Homade float.

Went fishing caught half a dozen straps! Nice evening with my mate who lost his wife a few months back and getting out fishing does him good.
