A mate of mine has invited me to fish with him in northern England…he has told me that Wigan pier is well worth a visit.. my question to you guys is what sort of gear do I take.?
Had a strange feeling that I wanted to go sea fishing.. first time in about six months..
I was just working on the farm and it hit me like a fat cow on a Friday night
Went to my local trout lake.. where they do what I first started back in the nineties.. catch and release and adding stock fish as well.
Got there to find probably fifty rods out.. some of them on a corporate day out complete with beer barbecuing and hangers on.
The main lake was full of weed...
..was the target.. just getting out to wet a line is hard enough these days.. I think August last year was the last time out.
Was due to fish here..
But decided that I would just lose gear.so inverbervie it was.
It was overcast.. but warmish.. 8 degrees..and only a light wind.
I baited one two...
Well not actually the rod..rather the reel screw thingy that tightens to stop the reel falling off
.the screw bit has detached from reel grippy bit..it's on a fox range master 2/12 lb test curve carp rod.
Can any of you kind gentlemen advise me if it's worth fixing it or just to get a new rod...
Had to remove my son from school for a pcr test..so the two of us managed and hour or so at the harbour at low tide.
Fished sabikis and a two oz lead..the result was 60 small Pollack to about a pound...good fun.
It seems like the spool on my 6000 isn't oscillating properly and his causing a birds nest..I have just put new line on..it's a nightmare..any ideas please..?
..decided after a morning of stripping carpets from the upstairs landing because of an infestation of carpet moths that I would rather like to be at the seaside.
I couldn't be bothered to take bait..just took some metal lures..finish minnows and some sabikis for a quick session on a local...
..about three weeks ago I managed to get out for a few hours on the beach..
I didn't have any fresh bait..just mackerel that must have been two years old and had been frozen and defrosted at least ten times..and some squid that was about the same.
l did remember the fork so I was going to try...
Looking to change my way of storing rigs and hooklengths. I currently use plastic bags that blow away down the beach when I open my box..any other recommendations..?
Finally managed to escape from work and farm duties for an afternoon..and went for a dangle.
It wasn't the best weather wise as it was blowing well..and cold..and the trout lakes are quite open to the elements..but a trip was required out..it must be a good 9 months since I had the chance to...
