    PB cod

Well done Steveo, 17 and half pounds in 1968 at Spurn Point on the Holderness is my PB. Always caught 4,5 or 6 every session and once caught 24 and my mate got 22 at Withernsea possibly a year or two later. Totally agree with Tommo as well, sewage outfalls and such were prolific and beaches up...

    Price of bait

    Price of bait

Mike just back from walk, popped in Chinese place, no bluey in but he said it comes in now and then. I got squid, calamari and mussels all very good stuff and cheap. Can't see any fish getting any of my calamari though! He had some other frozen fish but I've never heard of them, looked them...

    Price of bait

On Stockholm road towards Malmo Rd Post Office. Not been for a while though and I see the freezer lorry container has gone off the car park, but still worth a try I reckon, maybe got new freezers inside now?- I will ask tomorrow for you when I pass when I take the dog up river.?

    Terminal tackle

Whatever works for you buddy? I don't even use swivels personally except a link swivel for my lead and leave a short piece of line at the hook knot to keep bait in place myself, each to their own eh??

    Terminal tackle

Don't know what you mean exactly but in my own opinion after seeing some rigs which resemble a diamond necklace with a lugworm on the end, I just doubt their effectiveness myself? I personally doubt that they attract anything in the mud and murk and that fish are attracted by scent? Or in the...

    Terminal tackle

Agree, saving pennies on terminal tackle is false economy? Buy the best and have confidence in the quality? Just guessing as I've not had a problem but if you deal with Veals or suchlike, I would feel confident that they would deal with any complaint in a fairer way than cheaper outlets? And...

    Wots yer target

It will be a hard task to beat your PB Mike? Fingers crossed for you though!?

    Wots yer target

Mine is dependant on my dog, hopefully it is to just get away as soon as possible in the spring. I want to spend a couple or three months away in Knoydart. It is the last known wilderness and unless you get a ferry from Mallaig there are no roads connected to the rest of the country to get...

    Price of bait

I've bought some smashing fish from morrisons for bait and bags of mussels and razorfish. Agree, some of the tackle shop stuff is rank. I get lovely frozen bluey from the Chinese wholesalers.?

    Price of bait

I dig my own blow lug but buy frozen welsh black for the freezer when needed about a fiver a wrap. I also buy frozen squid and bluey and stuff when and where available but never had a lot of success with rag at my venues, and don't ever use it now. Mussels are handy at some places, so my advice...

    Braid on a multi.

I use it in various strengths for most of my fishing now since Jackjock recommended it to me. Never had any probs at all. Good braid at a fair price I reckon? Just wind it back tight if you're casting hard, use a rotton bottom and a stick or summat to wrap around when breaking out, 'cause I...

    Braid on a multi.

65lb power pro straight through - I've used 80lbs power pro straight through, casts ok, just use a rotten bottom though? ?
  16. hullcitytilidie

    Jeez, I've just near fainted!

I bought a Tricast Powerstrike on ebay at a very good price. When I got talking to the bloke he told me that he loved Tricast but was now into freshwater fishing. I told him that I had a rod he might be interested in, I had researched it and only found one that had previously sold for about...
