Thinking of going shore fishing in the spring within 2hrs drive, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any one of you can recommend a travel beach casting rod up to 6ozs. I have had a look at Tronix and Akios but would like your views on these and any other rods. Thanks (y) Beach

Do Century sell a 3/4 section travel rod that casts up to 6oz?

Going to get some fresh air on the Sussex coast Tuesday, taking the beach caster and a 11'6" 2-5oz bass rod with fresh bait, lug and peelers. Hopefully something sizeable. Weather & tide looks good.

Has anyone tried lures with rattles, if so were they any good?

Ordered 500 metres of 8 strand line with 50lb braking strain for a mate of mine via fleabay, he goes boat fishing once a month via Gosport Hants.

Quick question: Do fishing rods have the same sized screw in type fishing reel holders which is suitable for sea, fresh water & spinning fishing rods?

Anyone have any views on the reel, no I don't use fixed spool reels for beach casting.

Any recommendations for easing the spigot on the second section as the one I have received jams when I tried to put it in the first section. Appreciate all sensible replies Thanks peeps.

Has anyone any views on the above I am looking for a 3 or 4 section up to a max of 12 to 14ft which is lightweight and able to cast in the range of 3 - 6oz. Preferably a sensible price up to 200 of our English pounds. All sensible answers welcome :)

Any views on either circle hooks, barbed beak (long & short shanked) Aberdeen etc. I tend to use long shanked barbed beak as it tends to keep the bait (worms etc) more secure.

Has fishing tailed off in the area?

I used to use these when fishing from the beach, one about 1ft (300mm) up from the weight and another around 3ft (1m) used to work ok back in the 70/80's with approx 6inch trace to hook, I see that fleabay is selling them. Any one have any views- good, bad indifferent etc.

Ordered some bait to collect tomorrow, not sure where to go; maybe Seaford, Brighton Marina, Pagham or Worthing area. I will fish 2hrs before and 3 hrs after high tide. Sensible suggestions are welcome.
