So a mate of mine was out at Selsey last week and caught this beast. He tried to weigh it and reckoned it got to 78lb before the scales broke. If this is right it would have been a new shore caught record as the existing one stands at 77lbs 3oz. There were a couple of others fishing with him but...

Just picked up the following....all virtually new. All for 100 quid. 2 x Sonik SKS Black 13ft surf rods and a Savage Gear XLNT 7ft travel lure rod 20 to 70g. Bargains there if you're patient. Anyone want to buy a couple of 16ft Penn Powerstix Pro conti rods???

Just rediscovered this reel while sorting out fishing gear! Gave it a clean and an oil and put new line on it. It was the first sea reel I bought and still works perfectly....screw in handle and feels really nice. No grinding when turning ....cant wait to use it again after probably 30 years...

Well...had about 3 hours at West Bexington this afternoon. Fishing was pretty lousy...just a mackerel and a couple of bloody Spider Crabs! But who cares? Just being on Chesil is special enough. It's such a beautiful place at any time of the year....but when the sun is shining ? I don't think...

West Bexington was hot....very hot yesterday. Sun was bright and the water gin clear ..never seen it so clear. You could see small flatfish swimming around and whitebait shoals. But the target was mackerel...had no bait whatsoever and no dinner either and a few decent ones would do for both. 4th...

I've been looking at these for a few days after reading an article/advert in Sea Fishing magazine. Does anyone use them for lure fishing..or anything else for that matter. Any good? They certainly look the nuts with decent braid capacity and line retrieve. Any comments? This kind of thing...

Just a little heads up....just bought these gloves from lidl....4 quid. Lined with fleece...very warm. Should be able to cast wearing them. Haha...and hard to lose too....?
