The sea trout fisher in me likes a cloudy dark night for trying to catch sea trout, no moon, moon being bad. To be fair I have caught sea trout on moonlit nights. Do you have any preferences if you are out at night, do you think it has any influence on your catches either way the moon being out?

Took the spinning gear down to Terally Bay tonight. It was a bit mucky and weedy but I was there so gave it a bash anyway. Three small pollock and this wee beastie. Only about a pound but more significantly my second solway bass. Took a white seeker like the first one last year.

What baits do you catch em on?

Had a bash down the river tonight with the light spinning gear. Saw four salmon but didn't catch one. Got a nice 12"' or so brownie. No pics as I was up to my spuds in the river. Yellow mays hatching and the grayling making the most of them. Saw an otter on way back to the car.
